VICTORIA RESIDENTIAL TENANTS

Non-Mains Energy Concession

Residential tenants with eligible concession cards residing within Embedded Networks are still eligible for energy concessions. This is known as the Non-Mains Energy Concession. The amount of rebate is paid annually and based on energy type paid from the 1st January to the 31st December each year. The rates are reviewed each year by the Department of Health and Human Services.

To be eligible, you must hold one of the following concession cards

  • Pensioner Concession Card
  • Health Care Card
  • Veterans' Affairs Gold Card

How to Apply

Residents are required to apply directly to the Department of Health and Human Services before the 30th June each year with copies of paid invoices or receipts for the previous year. Energy Intelligence can assist with this if you are a customer of Energy Intelligence.

Medical Cooling Concession

An electricity account holder within an Embedded Network who holds an eligible concession card (Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, are entitled to receive the Medical Cooling Concession if they :

  • Have a medical condition that affects their body's ability to self-regulate temperature or
  • Have a household member with such a medical condition.

The concession is 17.5 per cent of your electricity usage and service costs between 1 November and 30 April.

Life Support Concession

Are you a concession card holder using a life support machine at home? If yes, you could be eligible for concessions on your electricity and water bills.

The electricity discount is the cost of 1,880 kilowatt hours (470 kilowatt hours per quarter) of electricity each year, calculated using the general domestic tariff of your retailer.

NSW RESIDENTIAL TENANTS

NSW Embedded Network residential customers are eligible for various Energy Rebates. All of which can be submitted by a simple online form through Energy NSW with the option to download the application form. A household can only receive the Rebates each financial year deposited into the customer’s bank account.

The Low Income Household Rebate helps people who hold eligible concession cards issued by the Commonwealth Department of Human Services or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs pay their electricity bill - $313.50.

The NSW Gas Rebate helps people who hold eligible concession cards issued by the Commonwealth Department of Human Services or the Department of Veterans' Affairs pay their natural gas or residential LPG bills - $121.

The Family Energy Rebate helps eligible households pay their electricity bill if they have dependent children and received the Family Tax Benefit payment from the Commonwealth Department of Human Services – up to $198.

The Life Support Rebate helps people pay their electricity bills if they are required or have someone living with them who is required to use approved energy-intensive equipment at home – see website for further details

The Medical Energy Rebate helps people who hold eligible concession cards issued by the Commonwealth Department of Human Services or the Department of Veterans' Affairs pay their electricity bill if either they or someone living with them has an inability to self-regulate body temperature when exposed to extremes of environmental temperatures (hot or cold) - $313.50.

QUEENSLAND RESIDENTIAL TENANTS

Concession card holders are eligible for an electricity rebate.  To access the rebates, we will require the Queensland Government Electricity Rebate Form  (download here) completed.  This form requires details about your concession card number and type.  Once completed, submit your form to Energy Intelligence with a copy of your Concession Card. We cannot apply a concession rebate on your electricity bills until we receive the completed information.

  • Pensioner Concession Card
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card
  • Queensland Seniors Card
  • Commonwealth Health Care Card
  • Asylum Seeker Status – ImmiCard
